Hempfield Band Parents Plan for Apple Festival

Forty-two members attended the meeting of Hempfield Senior Band Parents Club held in the school.
John Pringle, president of the school board, attended the meeting and offered the use of the school buses to transport the band as far as the state line when they make the trip to Winchester, Va. to participate in the Apple Blossom Festival.
John Faulk, director, explained how he is using a point system to provide incentive to the band members to work for the 75 points which are required to be eligible to make the trip.
A report was given on the profitable country fair held recently in Youngwood.
Clarence Anderson was appointed to contact a group of disc jockeys from radio station KQV known as the High Hoopers and arrange a basketball game between members of the Hempfield faculty and the disc jockeys. This event is scheduled March 27 in the high school gym.
Albert McCrumb was appointed general chairman for a special football game, featuring the McKeesport Little Tigers, to be held September 22.
Final arrangements for motels and buses in Winchester, Va., will be made by Charles Hufnagel and John Faulk. The festival will be held May 4.
