Irwin, who has been serving as band director in the Jeannette School District for the past year, has been named to a similar position in the Hempfield Area School District. Irwin will replace Thomas McKenna, who resigned earlier this month to continue his education in the music field. He was selected from among 12 applicants interviewed by the Hempfield School Board.
